Philadelphia homicide detectives said this week they have not determined the motives or made arrests in two fatal shootings this week that have brought the city’s homicide number near 90.
Police said one of the latest killings occurred in the 6600 block of Haddington Street at 10:32 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim, a white man in his 30s, was found inside a Mitsubishi Gallant. He has been identified as Scott Litwinko of Broomall. Litwinko had been shot in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police had not made any arrests as of Tribune press time and have not determined why Litwinko was slain. The investigation is continuing.
In an unrelated incident, homicide detectives are also investigating the murder of a 47-year-old African-American man early Thursday.
Police officers from the 22nd District said Tyrone Williams, from the 3100 block of West Norris Street, was found in the 3100 block of Fontain Street in North Philadelphia bleeding to death from multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Williams was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives said they have not yet determined a motive in the slaying and have no suspects.
Police report they have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 40-year-old African-American man that occurred early Monday evening.
The suspect, identified as Adreese Alston of the 300 block of Berkeley Street, was arrested later that night.
Alston was wanted in connection with the murder of Clarence Franklin, of the 7900 block of Rigby Street. Franklin was fatally shot in the back at around 7:15 p.m. in the 8000 block of Ogontz Avenue. |
