Jonathan Plummer is ready for his close-up. The ex-husband of Terry McMillan and inspiration for the book and movie “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” is gearing up for the release of his book, “Balancing Act.” Plummer’s novel comes out Sept. 4. The book is loosely based on his life about a Jamaican man whose ordinary life is changed forever when he meets a rich, powerful older woman. She brings him into her world. She can’t resist his dark chocolate skin and hazel green eyes. At first, he’s enjoying the money and lavish lifestyle, but then realizes she desires every adorable man he sees, and he has to make a decision.

Mel B may lose the money she fought so hard to get from Eddie Murphy! According to published reports and her mother, the former Spice Girl is married to a con artist. Stephen Belafonte, a.k.a. Mr. Mel B, is a fake. His real name is Stephen Standsbury. Stephen changed his name to Belafonte because he wanted people to think he was Harry Belafonte’s son. Mel B secretly married Stephen on June 6, and immediately cut off ties with her mother and close friends. Stephen has quite a past. His last girlfriend was 60 years old, and he used her for her money. He would drive around in her car picking guys and gals. Friends of Stephen describe him as a high school drop out, a scam artist, an animal killer, a liar, and a psycho who wouldn’t pay child support. He has a 3-year-old daughter, and he didn’t want to pay the $350 a month in child support. Sources say Mel made him sign a prenup. Many fear she has made a big mistake, and he’s only with her because she’s about to get Eddie Murphy’s money.

Bonnie Pointer of The Pointer Sisters says she’s ready to be sober. After 40 years of getting high, the 53-year old singer says her recent stay in rehab will be her last. Pointer says the untimely death of her younger sister June was a wake up call to her, and she was tired of the way she was living her life. Pointer says she started getting high when she was 13-years-old. Despite having cancer, drugs played a major part in the death of June.
